Q. How often will my site be backed up?
A. Websites on our managed hosting packages receive daily database backups and weekly site file backups to ensure the safety and security of your website. For more information on our different hosting packages learn more here.
Q. Will I have control over the different emails that needs to be created?
A. Yes, with our basic package you receive up to 10 free email account each with 1GB of storage which you can add/update/delete. If more emails or storage is needed additional accounts with 25GB of storage may be purchased for $3 per month. Learn more here.
Q. Are there any limitations on the size of my site or the storage capacity or bandwidth?
A. Yes however, we can work with you as your site gets more traffic to help make sure you continually have the resources needed. We can help set up your own cloud servers and full multi-server configuration as the site grows. Unlike GoDaddy we won’t just shut your site down when it uses to many resources and/or start throttling access so that users get a slow experience.
Q. What if the site begins having errors with the database or template?

Q. Is there any cost for restoring my website if something goes wrong?
A. If your website is on a managed hosting plan there is no cost and we will generally have the site back up same day. If your site is not on a managed hosting plan we may be able to restore the site in as little as a few hours. We charge a $150 fee to diagnose the issue and if we can fix it in that time, we do. If we are not able to fix the issue, we can at that time provide a quote for what it will take to get the site restored.
Q. Where are the servers that my site is hosted on?
A. Extima purchases large chucks of space and bandwidth from two main sources. We are proud to have partnered with two best in class server companies; Rackspace and GreenGeeks. Our non-ecommerce sites are on Rackspace Cloudsites servers and managed by their fanatical support team while our e-Commerce sites are on Virtual Private Servers at Green Geeks helping to save the planet through Green Initiatives in hosting while providing what we have found to be top notch support. Extima manages your account and gives you access to these enterprise class hosting providers at a fraction of the cost that you would pay by going direct. The reason for the split between companies is that we have found Cloudsites to be a less expensive solution than a VPS while providing excellent performance. However, CloudSites cannot offer PCI compliance and so we opt for a VPS and pay a little more to ensure your e-Commerce sites are PCI Complaint.
Q. Can Extima migrate my site?
A. We will migrate most websites and assist with the DNS transfer to ensure a smooth transition at no additional charge. Websites that have coding errors or issues we may require an additional fee which will be quoted to you before migrating your site.
Q. Can Extima migrate my email?
A. Email migration is an additional fee. Once we consult with you, we can come up with a plan and give you information on how you can manage the migration on your own or give you a quote for Extima to handle the migration.
Q. If I decide to upgrade from basic email accounts to ActiveSync and/or Exchange, is there a migration fee or downtime?
A. in this case, there is neither a fee or downtime for migrating your email accounts. The only requirement is that ALL of your mailboxes are on either the free or a paid plan.
